One model. Growth and protection.

Own the best stocks. Know when to move on.

Index funds own 500 of the biggest companies, strong and weak alike. SpireStocks narrows it to 115 of the best and runs one model that does it all at once: it picks the leaders, rotates as the market shifts and moves to cash when a bear market hits. Built to grow your money in rising markets and protect it in falling ones.

2.5x $100K in the model's picks in 2007 grew to $2.01M. The same $100K in the S&P 500 Growth index: $804K.

$100 a month per $100K invested. No credit card needed for the trial.

Fewer companies. Better ones.

Putting your money only into the strongest businesses is how the model aims for bigger gains than the whole market.

How it works

One model doing six jobs at once.

Most stock services stop at a list, and most timing services ignore which stocks you own. The SpireStocks model runs all six jobs together and re-checks them after every trading day, so picking, rotating and protecting cash never wait on each other.

  1. Stock picking

Starts with more than 1,000 U.S. and international companies and keeps the ones that keep beating the S&P 500 with strong sales growth and margins. 115 make the list, sorted into low, medium and high risk.

  2. Stock rotation

Money from fading picks moves to the strongest stocks still on a buy, ranked half on price trend and half on business results. The best gets the most, and no stock goes above 10%.

  3. Industry adjusting

Tracks which sectors and industries are leading, refreshed monthly. When a sector loses the lead, its weaker picks are trimmed, and a cap keeps one sector from taking over.

  4. Bear-market timing

Two market switches watch the S&P 500 and the VIX. One moves to cash in slow bear markets. The other, on when the S&P 500 is below its 100-day average and the VIX is above 20, keeps only the leaders.

  5. Knowing when to get out

Ten technical indicators vote every day, including Ichimoku, Stochastic, CCI, Williams %R, Klinger and SpireStocks' own AF/AG. A stock sells only after the vote stays negative for 3 days, so one bad day doesn't shake you out.

  6. Knowing when to get back in

Buys back when the faster indicators turn up for 3 days and the S&P 500 agrees, and only while the stock is above a rising 30-day average, so you aren't caught in a bounce that fails.

No long-term or short-term plan to choose. One model works on growth and protection at the same time, and today's picks won't be next year's.

What the research shows

Built and tested on 26 years of daily prices.

  • +14.4% a year ahead of the S&P 500, on average, for the growth screen's picks over the next 12 months. Picked every May from 2012 to 2025 using only data filed by then.
  • −35% vs −63% worst drop: the full model vs simply holding the same 49 stocks, 2000 to 2026.
  • +6.9% vs −34.5% 2008: the full model vs the S&P 500, the year the market switch moved to cash.

Model tests (backtests), not client accounts or live results. The growth-screen test covers 1,651 U.S.-listed companies with $1 billion or more in revenue but only those still listed today; it averaged about 7 picks a year and single years swung widely. The 49-stock tests use today's picks, which flatters results, so the fair comparison is the model against holding the same stocks. No trading costs or taxes.

Track record

Grow it and protect it.

One model does both at the same time. Here's the evidence for each part: the picks on their own, made in advance, and the full model's protection in down markets, tested on the same stocks.

Growing

$100,000 invested in Oct 2007

The picks alone ended at 2.5 to 3 times what the S&P 500 Growth index did over 19 years, through the 2008 crash.

The model's picks, made in advance: the 54 that were trading in Oct 2007, $100,000 split equally on Oct 22, 2007 and held to Oct 20, 2026. Top 25 are the 25 with the best three-year record as of Oct 2007. Calculated from actual daily closing prices, not a client account. Price returns before dividends, fees and taxes. Two companies that no longer trade are left out. VOOG before Sep 2010 uses IVW, which tracks the same index. Past performance does not guarantee future results.

Protecting

Same stocks, smaller drops

Adding the rest of the model, rotation and the bear-market switches, cut the worst drop on the same stocks nearly in half.

Worst drop from a high, Jan 2000 to Oct 2026 (model test). Shorter bar is better.

  • Full model: picks, rotation, market switches −35%
    2008: +6.9% · 2022: −3.1%
  • Same 49 stocks, held −63%
    2008: −40.1% · 2022: −13.7%
  • S&P 500 (SPY) −55%
    2008: −34.5% · 2022: −18.7%

Model test (backtest), not a client account or live results: today's 49 picks from Jan 3, 2000 to Oct 30, 2026, equal amounts rebalanced daily, trades at the next day's open, cash earns nothing, and no dividends, trading costs or taxes (the SPY line includes dividends). 2008 and 2022 are calendar-year returns. The picks were chosen in 2026, which flatters any line that holds them, so compare the model with holding the same stocks. The model sells often, so taxes in a regular account would lower its result. Past performance does not guarantee future results.

Six jobs, one price.

To cover all six jobs on your own, you'd stack four subscriptions that don't talk to each other. Or you'd pay a firm a percentage of your money to do it for you.

On $100K, SpireStocks costs about what the cheapest stack of separate subscriptions does, with all six jobs working together in one model, and 40% to 60% of what firms that time the market for you charge.

Typical published prices for each kind of service as of Nov 2026, one service per job; sell alerts and buy-back signals usually come with the alert and timing services, so they aren't counted twice. Manager fees are published averages or maximums and vary by firm; the hedge-fund figure assumes a 10% gain. Separate services keep the same price as your account grows, while percentage fees, including ours, grow with it.

Questions

Do I have to move my money?
No. You keep investing at your own broker. SpireStocks never holds your money.
How is the price set?
$100 a month for each $100K you invest, in proportion, so $250K is $250 a month. The minimum is $100. Each $100K above $750K is $50 a month.
Which account should I use?
The model sells and buys back more often than buy and hold. In an IRA or Roth IRA those trades aren't taxed. In a regular account, taxes on the sales cost about 1.5 to 2 points a year in our model tests, so talk to your tax adviser.
Why not just get the list once?
Because it changes. Rankings shift, sectors lose the lead, and bear markets come. Members get the alerts that say when to rotate, when to step aside and when to get back in.
Do I pick a strategy?
No. There's no long-term or short-term plan to choose. One model keeps choosing the strongest stocks, rotates as leadership changes and moves to cash when the market turns, all at the same time.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel in your account settings and you won't be charged again.
